    Today is the day that Christians finally removed their masks and revealed their true colors.  We're all familiar with the masks.  Whether it is the nice old lady who helps out with organizing the weekly bulliten, the young couple who host small groups at their home, the CEO of a company who is vocal about his faith, and a million other disguises.

    Something's been bugging me lately. It's this:

    Why does whup-ass only come in those huge cans? I understand that's it's more economical, but it's also really wasteful. And probably leaves a big carbon footprint. Why hasn't somebody come up with the idea of selling mini-portions? Or at least quart-size containers?

    But no. If you listen to the ads, you're encouraged every damn time to open up a brand-new huge can of whup-ass. Like you, the back of my fridge is stuffed with jars of the leftover stuff. It's not like it ever goes bad, right?

    With the lack of regulation leading to catastrophic failure of our "free market" system, in turn leading to calls for increased calls for regulation, it's no surprise that the virtues of Ayn Rand are being extolled once again. Although I have no problem with her as an author, or even as a philosopher, I do have a problem with taking her ideas out of historical context, and attributing to them a greater worth than I think they deserve.
