A Breezy Friday Afternoon at the Haikulodeon

Here's this week's heap of haikus:

    The ocean so vast,
and the waves so persistent ...
    I'll swim tomorrow.

    Mysteries may end
    while plot-lines stay unresolved.
    The moon hides in clouds.

    ---

    Fitful nights will pass.
    Sleep will overtake sadness.
    A new day will dawn.

    ---

    When his heart's desire

    bitch-slapped his raison d'être,

    he felt quite confused.

    ---

    If you struggle to

build ships in bottles, why not

    get bigger bottles?

    ---

    tanka haiku:

    Today, our thoughts blend,
    into philosophical
    smoothies. They're zombies.

How do brand new thoughts arise
when old thoughts refuse to die?

    ---

    A sliver of moon,
    slicing through the clouds, restless
    shadows roam the fields.

    ---

    The filthy windshield
    gave a sepia toned view
    of my ride to work.

    ---

    Tanka haiku:

    If elevators
stood still, then buildings would go
    up and down. Cool, huh?

A town's fun could be measured

      by skyline percolation.

    ---

    haiku quintet:

    I used to enjoy

    anonymous wanderings

    when on vacation.

    I would quietly

    explore towns I visited,

    as if I lived there.

    now, due to age and

    chronic illness, I can not

    blend into backgrounds.

    Ev'ry where I go

    I am noticed, observed and

    offered assistance.

    I miss the old days

    and the anonimity

    which showed me new worlds.

    ---

    Paradise or Swamp?

    Likely civilization

    will rise from the swamp.

    ---

    When you fall in love,
    it will be voracious. Hearts
    never have enough.

Sorry, for the small heap this week.  More next week.

    Comments

Good things come in small packages.  Enjoyed them.  I hope you are feeling well.

    Do we need the flame?

Or is it enough to bask

    in the afterglow?

    The wax that has dripped

    down the sides of memory

    still carries some warmth.

    Excellent, barefooted!

    In the afterglow

    we must reflect and embrace

    the change the flames wrought.

    So let us slumber

    in the generosity

    of its peaceful light.

    Nice one!

    So let us slumber,

for we have come a long way

    and have eaten lunch.

    Thoughts repeat themselves.

That is neither good nor bad,

    seen as a process.

    Hegel played Psychology

    while Spinoza looked for God.

    That's beautiful, moat. Really.

    *blushes, kicks feet*

    I like yours too.

    Excellent, moat!!
