Good for Scott! Refreshing: a Republican with some principles about the judiciary! (Channeling the ghost of Sen. Brooke, a Republican, so-author of Civil Rights act?)
I note he was appointed by Nikki Haley as an interim, and he won election after that, twice-special and regular!
This is an intriguing statement by the reporter: It’s not clear whether Scott would have ultimately persuaded them (referring to Rubio and Collins) to also vote against Farr, but he has a track record of being influential.

Tim Scott finally did the right thing. Sad that a majority of Republicans were ready to approve Farr for the NC bench.
Edit to add:
The bar for black Republicans is set so low that Scott receives praise for blocking a judge who wants to suppress black votes. This is the Twilight Zone.
