European automakers French automaker Renault, which had an eight percent share of the Iranian automotive market, the 12th largest in the World, announced last month that it would join more than 100 international companies that have pulled out of Iran to comply with U.S. sanctions, reimposed beginning Tuesday, despite the fact Renault has no operations in the United States.
Peugeot announced its departure in June, it had a 34 percent market share in Iran, selling about 500,000 cars a year [.....]

This is alarming - as if 6 weird dysfunctional competitors wasn't enough, now we get a well-armed 7th? Or maybe it's a good way to fill a vacuum we've left - who knows anymore. But hey, Hillary was a warmonger, at least that's established.

Plus after it's all over there's like few actual citizen people left in Syria anymore? Empty land, who gets it?

As Lulu has explained to us, everything the US has done around the world has been evil.
LessMore evil than what Russia or China has done. Therefore if we withdraw and Russia and China get involved in Syria and other places around the world has to be an improvement. Even if it's not good it has to be better than what the evil US would do.eta: corrected error. You know what they say, less is more.

ocean-kat, I think you're being a bit too negative about what is essentially the advice George Washington gave us in his Farewell Address. I am sympathetic, the only problem to get out of the way is the extra 6.5 billion people the world has gained since 1800 and technology and global communication and stuff. Get rid of those and it should work out fine not sticking our nose into other countries' business and not having entangling alliances and stuff.

Alright, you've passed your monthly quota of snark, I'm cutting you off.

You got me. I'm just jealous. I'd much prefer running around rural Mexico to being stuck in what is passing as civilization these days, checking my favorite websites when I can catch wifi here or there....

Rural Mexico? got gas? I have my dad's credit card, meet you at the corner in an hour.

I spent 8 months running around rural Mexico 20 years ago. I've thought about going back when I get SS. Unfortunately what passes for civilization these days makes me scared to go back.

Tell me about it - my dream in bygone days was Afghanistan - always figgered it'd get better. Of course never did. Closest I got was northern Pakistan, still amazing. Mexico's a different side of same coin. Or then there's free love/good vibes Brazil with only 60,000 murders a year. Perhaps we're just paranoid...
