A rally supporting Colin Kaepernick was held in Brooklyn on Saturday the 19th. Among the people supporting Kaepernick taking a knee were black NYPD officers. The quarterback's protest was against police brutality, something that should not be a problem for a self-respecting police officer.

I'm confused (not), I thought we were not supposed to support any NYPD because they are all evil supporters of things like stop and frisk and choke holds, that it's supposed to be us vs. them.

I supported all the NYPD officers who criticized the lack of charges against the NYPD officer who choked Eric Garner.
I supported charges against NYPD Sgt. Kizzy Adonis, a black woman who was a supervising officer on the scene when Garner was dying on the ground.

I supported all the officers who protested the deaths of Tamir Rice, Walter Scott, Philando Castillo, etc.

I don't trust nor "support" a single member of the NYPD. I help pay their salaries with my taxes and I expect them to do a good job but feel that they often don't. I don't think the majority of them are racists (and actually their ranks from top to bottom include many races now), but I do think perhaps half of them are arrogant assholes, especially to poor people (of all colors) and that those arrogant assholes are of all colors. Their slogan is "to protect and serve" and they are supposed to therefore be serving me and the other citizens, but it just doesn't often seem that way.
p.s. See, a post racial society that is class based instead is possible, we basically have it here in NYC. That doesn't mean it's pretty result. But the "black vs. white" does not have to go on and on and on, it is quite solvable, we've done it. Maybe if people stop talking it up like what still might exist in a gerrymandered district in some red state like Missouri, still exists everywhere in this country, you could move on to class based problems too.

It's Sunday. The Game of Thrones, Ballers, Insecure, Last Week Tonight block is coming up, so I really don't have a lot of time. Not dealing with race is a luxury that impacts only white people.

NYC is not post racial for black people. Ask Eric Garner's family. Ask a random black person in NYC.

Here you go, he will be famous for all time, and that will be partially paid for with Federal tax dollars:
Kaepernick Items to be Included in Black Lives Matter Collection at Smithsonian
Because some curators thought this a historically significant activity.
When everyone doesn't care anymore, then he goes to the dusty storage. It might be robot lives matter then.
Meanwhile, the NFL, as far as I know, is still a for profit entertainment operation. As is all the sports media.

Robot Lives Matter
Truly hilarious. Kaepernick protests police abuse by taking a knee and he is the problem. Black Lives Matter is the problem. If the legal system functioned properly, we would not have a problem. If other activist organizations were effective. Blacks Lives Matter would not have been crated.

Blacks bring up race because they cannot pretend that we are post racial. Police have not stopped a busing black men.
In the NFL, White players are supporting black players who protest during National Anthem

Kaepernick and BLM are not the problem. We are not post racial.

The poutrage caused by Kaepernick is ridiculous. His protest is against police brutality. Existing organizations have no gotten the practice under control. Other players are taking knees during the National Anthem and receiving support from teammates.
Why so gleeful about Kaepernick's situation?

I have seen just a few clips from NFL preseason games but some more players have knelt for the SPB and in at least a couple instances one of their teammates stood beside with a hand on his shoulder. I think they both did themselves proud.

Over a dozen Cleveland Browns players took a knee in their most recent pre-season game. This included white players.
