    POST HOC ERGO ...

    NEVER ASSUME
Never assume, it makes an as out of u and an ass out of me
(Some ass wrote this a long time ago)

I know that my keys are in the kitchen drawer closest to my living room.
Of course two or three times a year, those keys are not where they are supposed to be.
When I am lost, I assume the keys are in my pants pocket or in my desk.

Nevertheless, I always assume the keys are in their proper place.

I know the correct path to the grocer's.

That is, six months or less out of the year, I know the shortest path to the grocer's.

Six months or more out of the year, I know the shortest path to the grocer's in snowy or icy times.

BUT I DO KNOW WHERE THE GODDAMN GROCERY STORE IS ALL THE TIME.

    I also assume other things.

I know when my bank account will be credited with my SS deposit from the government.

I know where to click on the internet to discover the time of sunset or sunrise on any given day and receive really fine estimates regarding the weather.

    POST HOC ERGO PROPTER HOC

This Latin phrase is a fallacy according to certain philosophical treaties; but really we all depend on Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc or we could never get through the day.

To attack this principle thusly, is inane.

Now Stand-up Comics, scam artists, magicians, politicians, advertising agencies and a host of other societal characters rely upon the assumptions of their audiences in order to pursue their trades.

But as I grow older I find that I have fewer assumptions on an ad hoc setting.

Most jokes are not that funny anymore, even the jokes I have never heard.

I can predict the punch lines.

Most ads do not attract my interest.

    I already discount their promises.

Most political entreaties either piss me off or leave me numb in spirit.

Hell, most dramas on the tellie provide plots that are neither surprising nor interesting.

Some character might make some remark and I find myself mouthing the response from another character prior to that response being made.

Hope only arises when I am fooled or surprised.

This surprise might end up being good or evil in nature.

    Nevertheless there is surprise.

George Romney claimed during a presidential bid that he had been brainwashed by the powers that be with regard to the Vietnam War.

And George ended up toast shortly after that remark was made.

Dukakis decided one day to travel in an army tank.
    Dukakis was tanked.

The Governor of VT utters one shrill cry at one rally and becomes persona non grata.

    Howard Dean is toast.

John Kerry declares that he was once for the war in Iraq and then he was against the war in Iraq.

John received more against votes than for votes.

George W. Bush eschewed the call for service in Vietnam.

John Kerry served not only one but two tours in Vietnam.

And at the 2004 repub convention, the attendees denigrated John's service by wearing bandaids in order to openly snark Kerry's service.

    But Bush won easily.

Tricky Dicky told the reporters in 1962:

Well I guess you won't have Nixon to kick around anymore.

Six years later Nixon is elected POTUS.

And Dicky wins in a landslide for re-election in '72.

Bill Clinton fucks just about any young girl who can walk since he became Governor of Arkansas and is elected to two terms as POTUS.

And the same folks who swift boated Kerry in 2004 attempted to swift boat Obama in 2008. But these bastards lost twice and helped make Barry POTUS. twice. hahahaha

    But T-Rump is something else.

I check Slate.com at least twice a week for its compilations of this jack ass's mistakes.

    TALK ABOUT TEFLON DON!

Politics to me anyway, begins to look like descriptions  from physicists about quantum mechanics. ha

I mean, where in the fuck are my keys?

Hillary falls down on her way to the limo and 48 hours later it seems that all MSM can talk about is pneumonia.

Well, MSNBC as well as CNN have at least discussed Trump's recent charity disgrace.

At least there are reporters who read the NYT expose.

I still feel that Trump has a 40% chance to become POTUS.

Hell, if he had a 10% chance of being POTUS, I would still be scared to death.
