Lest we forget - Fukushima Nuclear Plant maybe in worse shape that the media lets on

Here are a few reasons why. http://www.fairewinds.com/ and

The situation at the Fukushima plant is currently out of control, says Professor Christopher Busby from the European Committee on Radiation Risks, who gave RT his insight into the recent developments in Japan.

The situation at the Fukushima plant is currently out of control, says Professor Christopher Busby from the European Committee on Radiation Risks, who gave RT his insight into the recent developments in Japan.

“Of course, it’s time for the Japanese government to take control. But having said that, it’s very hard to know how you could take control of the situation. The situation is essentially out of control,”

    Busby stressed.

“I believe personally that it’s a global problem – and not the Japanese government’s problem only,” he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, Japan's Prime Minister Naoto Kan said that his government was determined to "take responsibility" for Japan's crippled nuclear plant "right to the end" as the operator of the plant said a revised roadmap to resolve the crisis would stick with the existing timeline.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Tokyo Electric Power Co. Vice President Sakae Muto said the operator would maintain the revised plan but will add new tasks, such as boosting preparedness for tsunamis and improving conditions for workers.

Reports say there are signs that two further reactors, Nos. 2 and 3, at Japan's troubled Fukushima plant may have gone into meltdown. Earlier it was confirmed that similar problems had occurred at the number one reactor during the first 16 hours following the plant’s being hit by the earthquake and tsunami.

    And this from Common Dreams.

Forget the corporate-induced media coma that says otherwise…or nothing at all.

Lethal radiation is spewing unabated. Emission levels could seriously escalate. There is no end in sight. The potential is many times worse than Chernobyl.

Containing this disaster may be beyond the abilities of Tokyo Electric or the Japanese government.

There is no reason to incur further unnecessary risk. With all needed resources, it's time for the world's best scientists and engineers to take charge.

Even then the outcome is unclear.

For a brief but terrifying overview, consult Dr. Chris Busby as interviewed by RT/TV

Fukushima Units One, Two and Three are all in various stages of melting down.

Molten fuel at Unit One may have burned through its reactor pressure vessel, with water poured in to cool it merely pouring out the bottom.

A growing pond of highly radioactive liquid is softening the ground and draining into the ocean.

There is no way to predict where these molten masses of fuel will yet go.

Especially in the event of an aftershock, steam and hydrogen explosions could blow out what's left of the containments.

The extra plutonium in the MOX fuel at Unit Three is an added liability.

At least one spent fuel pool has been on fire.

The site has already suffered at least two hydrogen explosions. Some believe a fission explosion may also have occurred.

Just because this is no longer the story du jour does not mean it has gone away.

Very True. Now that gas prices are high, we've forgotten the Gulf Spill.

BTW, I was reading something that said Russia Today was not the most reliable news outlet, on par with Fox News.

I have been following this on NHK and they have pretty much confirmed what has been report here. That 1 and 2 reactors have melted down and that a hole has been melted through the number 1 reactor core or vessel.

I haven't seen much RT output, but what I have seen seems to be fairly decent quality - to the point that I have remarked on being impressed with their interviews in the past.

Where did you read negative stuff about them?

I think someone posted something here, but I can't remember.

It's brutal. Absolutely fucking insane. What a stupid people we are.

BUT THIS IS CLEAN ENERGY FOR CHRISSAKES!

This wind stuff kills birds by the thousands.

And sun technologies could be hard on ants.

Batteries, now those are clean. I know i have one on this PC and cleanliness is next to godliness.
