Deadman's picture

The DagBuzz for 2/12/09: (Darwin, Lincoln, and the new MOFT)

Exciting news, daggers (well, it's at least exciting for Deadman)!! I have bought a snazzy new hi-res Webcam, and the videos should now end up being much, much clearer. However, the bad news is that not only do you now get to see all of Deadman's defects in full glory, but I kind of liked the way the old dark and grainy images fit the Deadman persona.

All hope is not lost, though, as the new webcam can do some very cool things, some of which could help solve my persona dilemma.

The actual DagBuzz portion of the video today is brief, but please daggers watch the video all the way through to the end so you can see what the camera can do, and let me know what you think. Trust me, you won't be disappointed, it's pretty cool stuff - The Logitech 9000 Pro Webcam has been immediately anointed as My One Favorite Thing of the week - and as a bonus, I embarrass myself to the fullest throughout the proceedings.

Here are the Yahoo Buzz! stories:

One thing I noticed: The mic isn't as strong as the other Webcam so you may have to turn up your volume to hear better. I will move the webcam a little closer for future videos, which should help.

I'm a little speechless.  Just got off the elipical and came to this.  Where to start?

Volume was fine for me.  The new camera is very clear but I didn't see any facial potholes, really Deadman, too sensitive there.  I liked the last filter way lots.  If you aren't going to use it could you get some nice art work up in the background for us to look at?  (just kidding)

Darwin- I listen to BBC radio at night and those guys are doing the Darwin thing up right.  They love and respect the man over there - he is huge.  And no problem with the church.  What would it be like without evangelicals? 62%, really?  Who did that poll and how was the question phrased?  I admit I have seen that before and had the same sick to my stomach reaction but I didn't question it then.  Do you have a fact checker?  Just reading a New Yorker piece by John Mcfee about the fact checkers there, so I was prompted to ask.

I thought all the face masks were funny.   The baby thing was creepy man, way creepy.  The crown was really funny as were the comments you made about it.

    Thank you

Thanks blue, you always have my back. Alas, i dont have much time for fact checking. but below is the link to the story that discussed the pew studies. If i were being completely fair - the 63% headline number is a bit unfair, since it includes people who think evolution may happen but that god made it that way.

63% - Reject Darwin's Theory of Evolution (Pew)

Please never sing at dagblog again. NEVER!!!!!!

The last filter was very cool, but it was a bit distracting. Can you tone it down? I kinda like the 80's one, but it was more A Ha than Madonna. Compare and contrast...

I thought the singing and arm flailing was rather cute.

G Unit is just playa' hating, plain and simple. I've dealt with it my whole life. People usually react suspiciously, even violently, when they first encounter otherworldly talent.

Did you know that Charles Darwin is buried inside Westminster Abbey? For me, if was one of those Scooby Doo moments, where my eyes saw it, turned away, and snapped back again in surprise.

    Happy Birthday Darwin and Lincoln!
