A Truth and Reconciliation Commission on Native American treatment, 1492-present

While we are discussing the truth about our nation's past...

One of the things that pisses me off in addition to the *current iteration of the multi-century "ethnic cleansing"project that congratulates itself every year on the birthday of Columbus (when the fuck did genocide get to be "ethnic cleansing", anyway....was it Bosnia?) is having to endure lies being used as weapons to destroy the past even while dogs are being used to as weapons to destroy the present.

Would it be too much to have a Truth and Reconciliation Commission?

Cue the howls from the Beleaguered League of the Previously Priveleged.

They really need have no worries here, the genocide of the indigenous population in Anglo-Saxon North America was sufficiently thorough as to leave no potential competing population, no fear of Affirmative Action here!

That said, and even in advance promising to hold harmless the hard acquired goods of the invading Europeans and their successors-in-interest, it would be nice not to have to put up with John Wayne.... like it was that way.
