As I put info out there asking people to like and share our page:

to try to cultivate some enthusiasm and motivate people to take some action for the upcoming midterm elections, I have received a lot of response, much of gratitude, support, encouragement and some from people disappointed with the Democratic leadership that say their pocketbooks are closed, they won't do anything to support them, and they are unlikely to vote.
Here is what I tell them in response:
The Democrats have been disgustingly inept in handling this majority. I would particulary like to see a new majority leader in the senate to replace Harry Reid should the Dems retain control.
However this election is NOT about the dems or the Republicans, it IS about US and the future of our country, OUR future.
And as inept as the some of the dems in congress may have been, I feel certain our country will be MUCH worse off in republican control. It is for THAT reason that I am fighting to motivate people to get out the vote and help the dems retain control in the house and senate.
I am doing this for 'us' not 'them'.
As of this writing we have had 653 people like our page. Many have donated and expressed their appreciation for the message of encouragement and delight in the notion that we 'could' defeat John Boehner among others.
My intention in focusing on defeating Boehner was not only to better our government but also because I believe it would be a great boost to morale for liberals and independents in our country. (You can read more about why we 'could' beat John Boehner this election on our page linked above and below).
If the Republicans & crazies gain control it is because we are lazy and apathetic about our own future, it is certainly NOT because they deserve it, because in fact, they may take our weakened nation and completely destroy it. Pundits all insist that it would be low voter turnout for Democratic candidates that would cause them to lose. In other words, the Republicans would win because of a voting minority and a non-voting majority.
The main way I have been reaching people is by writing blogs like this or by posting the following after my comments on various publications online:

The issue of sexual assaults on American Indian women has become one of the major sources of discord in the current debate between the White House and the House of Representatives over the latest reauthorization of the landmark Violence Against Women Act of 1994.
.......
“We should never have a woman come into the office saying, ‘I need to learn more about Plan B for when my daughter gets raped,’ ” said Charon Asetoyer, a women’s health advocate on the Yankton Sioux Reservation in South Dakota, referring to the morning-after pill. “That’s what’s so frightening — that it’s more expected than unexpected. It has become a norm for young women.”
The difficulties facing American Indian women who have been raped are myriad, and include a shortage of sexual assault kits at Indian Health Service hospitals, where there is also a lack of access to birth control and sexually transmitted disease testing. There are also too few nurses trained to perform rape examinations, which are generally necessary to bring cases to trial.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan — A Pakistani doctor who helped the Central Intelligence Agency pin down Osama bin Laden's location under cover of a vaccination drive was convicted on Wednesday of treason and sentenced to 33 years in prison, a senior official in Pakistan said.
A tribal court here in northwestern Pakistan found the doctor, Shakil Afridi, guilty of acting against the state, said Mutahir Zeb Khan, the administrator for the Khyber tribal region [....]

MOSCOW — Stiff new penalties aimed at opposition protesters were given preliminary approval Tuesday by Russian lawmakers loyal to President Vladimir Putin, the target of mass rallies and demonstrations before his March election victory.
The bill, which opposition parliament members termed draconian and protested by threatening to file out of a legislative session, calls for fines of up to $50,000 and up to 200 hours of community service for organizers of rallies and demonstrations that grow violent or exceed the approved number of participants.
The sanctions were approved on first reading by parliament's lower house, which is controlled by Putin's United Russia party. They mark a return by the Kremlin to a tough stance against critics after concessions during the recent election campaign [...]

HAVANA — It was all sunshine, smiles and celebratory speeches as officials marked the arrival of an undersea fiber-optic cable they promised would end Cuba's Internet isolation and boost web capacity 3,000-fold. Even a retired Fidel Castro had hailed the dawn of a new cyber-age on the island.
More than a year after the February 2011 ceremony on Siboney Beach in eastern Cuba, and 10 months after the system was supposed to have gone online, the government never mentions the cable anymore, and Internet here remains the slowest in the hemisphere. People talk quietly about embezzlement torpedoing the project and the arrest of more than a half-dozen senior telecom officials.
Perhaps most maddening, nobody has explained what happened to the much-ballyhooed $70 million project....

Husbands, not strangers or men with guns, are now the biggest threat to women in post-conflict west Africa, according to a report by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) released on Tuesday.
The IRC report, Let Me Not Die Before My Time: Domestic Violence in West Africa, based on data collected over 10 years by the IRC in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ivory Coast, said domestic violence is the "most urgent, pervasive and significant protection issue for women in west Africa" [.....]
No.
Good answer!
I thought it was a trick question, but I took the plunge, what can I say.
This, (presumed by the media), coming Democratic debacle only happens if they turn out to vote and we don't. Screw the brain-dead Independents that think they've got some sort of special integrity, because they vote for whatever side seems to be winning or is currently out of power, 'just to keep Washington, honest.' The truth is, these kinds of Independents really don't have the brains to figure out what side they're on, Let's make them irrelevent.
Democrats, (according to the MSM), are disheartened and disappointed. Really? I'm not. I'm angry. Not so much at Obama and his administration, (although I hate some of the decisions they've made and desperately wanted them to go further to the left and lead the country in a more progressive way), I'm angry that so many people, when they didn't get what they wanted, gave up or threw the Democratic party under the bus. Oh, and I'm also furious that the Democratic leadership are such a bunch of wussies and can't find enough backbone to stand up and fight even for the important stuff,
But this election is another matter; who do you want in control of Congress, Republicans who will destroy the nation, or Democrats that we're disappointed in? For crying out loud, what is the matter with us? Do we really think we teach the Dems a lesson about not being more Progressive by letting Republicans take control of Congress? Really? All that does is convince more Democrats that they have to act like Republicans to win.
On Saterday I turned on CNN and they had their money show on. I was going to listen while I cleaned up. What was being discused ended up being how medicade and medicare was going to have to be cut. Nothing was said about raising revenue, just cutting out programs. The moderator of the show was right in there leading the commentary with a talking head on each side of him. I turned it off because it was upsetting. I found myself angry at CNN. I don't want to hear it any more from republicans how they have to do this to get the economy going because I know it is nothing but nonsence. To them profit and low taxes are more important than human life.
I can't wait to get to the polls in November to vote against this idiology. Also no one is going to talk me into voting for Charlie Crist either because I have been voting against him for many years and I don't plan to now that he is out side of the republican party. I will keep all my votes in the democratic party and give Meek my support because I really do like him and always had because he took on JEB and got him to back down on some issues.
I have been supporting grass roots here in Florida. It was the crazies on the right that drove me to it.
No we don't. But a good number of dems have been worse than inept they too (many of 'em) have been corrupted by corporate money and have worked against our best interests. Plus, the prez has frequently appeased both these republidems and the republicons while ignoring or at best paying lip service to the voices and needs of the great majority of the American people.
That is why we have to take a perspective of what is best for 'us' in this election. This choice is not about them and whether they are great candidates or whehter they have represented us well... it is about what will happen for us and how we will be affected personally. This is about acting in our own self interest and putting it ahead of 'them'.
After the midterms I think we need to look at ways we can change things and make them better for 'us'. For me that includes working to get the senate to 'elect' leadership instead of have it won via seniority. Just one step. But sitting idly by and letting republicans and crazies take over is not an option despite our political realities.

Agreed. Sitting idly by is the worst thing we can do.
Do what's best, even though it's not what's perfect, and don't cut off your nose to spite your face.
As ever, I am extremely excited about voting against the ridiculous and contemptible Republican troglodytes this year. I recently gave $100 bucks to the Democratic Governors Association because I appreciated their "stick it to the GOP" fundraising appeal.
Are troglodytes to be distinguished from trolls?
And welcome, DanK.
