Any friends who voted for Trump?

    Why?

Who cares why the bad people did. We won't invite them to our next birthday partyl

But why did your friends do it?

    Are these called "FRumps"?

I commute with people who voted for Trump. They did it because they are always mad at everyone and everything. They are people who are employed and have been employed throughout, but they are angry, that is what binds them, anger. I think they listen to hate radio and it has warped them. I believe it is as simple as that, but until they decide to quit being so angry, they will continue. They won't get anything from a Trump Admin except higher taxes on the middle class and they will be angrier in 3 years 11 months and whatever days, than they are now. They will wonder what happened, why Trump didn't make them happy, why does nothing make them happy? Because you can't listen to hate all day and be happy. To a person those people listen to talk radio they love Limbaugh, Hannity, Infowars, and they seem to believe everything those knuckleheads say. Everyone is taking their stuff and sapping the system and they are the only people working hard and contributing and they are righteous and pure!

What changes that, well I believe the pain of the next 3 years 11 months and whatever days will probably jolt some sense back into people. For now, they continue to explode all over America with their vileness.

Every single day another Trump voter freaks out and attacks people, what is up with that?

I do believe the Trump Administration will never be able to form a fully functioning government.  Will their incompetence keep them from winning a second term, we will find that out in the next year when we see how Trump voters react to this incompetence.

Here's hoping the emoluments clause trips him up before day 1, but then that's expecting law enforcement and the Supreme Court and other grownups to do their jobs. Well, we could get hit by a comet on Jan 19...

(here's a thought experiment - among the deplorable Republican candidates who do you think and who would you hope be shoved into the slot should they actually defend the Constitution, or if goes to the House. Suddenly all those awful looking Republicans we dismissed months ago are the contenders at the beauty pageant - a sicker bunch of horses I haven't witnessed outside a plague zone or prison work camp, but hey, they'd be our consolation prize)

Only one.  Just said she'd had enough of Hillary.

Her husband had been a  newspaper editor.  On both coasts. "Independent" papers which  endorsed candidates from either party.

It's an emotional relief to say that they're all stupid or evil.

Good. If true , schools out

We're free to shoot ourselves or rend our garments,

But if millions of them are  not stupid or evil. In fact, well our friends, how do we get a million of them to vote with us  in 18 and 20 so we can surf  2021's  coming  redistricting wave ?

The Bernie route ? Could be .

There were Bernie supporters watching the returns and quietly saying (to themselves)" I'told you so." They could have made a difference.

But there were Hillary voters who just voted for her.  Unenthusiastically. But voted. They don't weight the votes, they count them and some of them would have watched the fire place burn low if Bern had been our nominee.

-And  been Trump voters if we ran Elizabeth Warren.

Not me. I began admiring  her when she had her  weekly blog on TPM .But, sadly middle of the road voters vote  for middle of the road candidates.

Where have you gone Joe ....................    Lieberman?..

    Groan.

But if that's what it takes  to shift 5 state houses , "Joe , we love ya."

They voted for a con man. What evidence do you have that they are not stupid? They voted for a racist. What evidence do you have that they are not evil?

The devil has all the best tunes. Of course some were stupid, evil and/or both.But.

Some of them  were neither stupid or evil. Conditioned by the demeaning  suffering from their unemployment they were taught via a very clever very well financed  campaign to blame their rescuers.

I view this like I view the folks who went to church on Sunday but were silent when the Citizen's Councils and the Klan abused Blacks and Jews. They did not lift a finger. Trump supporters will fall in line with the GOP as Stop and Frisk becomes nationalized. They will not object to roundups of Latinos or registration of Muslims. I think their vote speaks volumes.

I support  the democratic party because on most issues they align with my views. Often they don't go far enough. Often they are not bold. But even if they aren't going as far or as fast as I'd like they are almost always going in the right direction. I would rather the democrats be a minority party, a voice crying out in the wilderness, than win with the policies of a Joe Lieberman or a Jim Webb et al. At some point, if the democrats move to far to the right it wouldn't make sense for me to vote for them at all. At some point I'd decide I have to vote third party. And I've never done that.

Great comment Flavius.   People voted for Trump instead of Clinton for all kinds of reasons and that list is long.  I have had a couple of internet friends that have emailed me to tell me they were voting for Trump but didn't want anyone to know that publicly or their family in order to keep peace.

Hillary was the wrong candidate to run in this election.  She didn't move far enough to the left for the current voters. She was the poster person for the establishment in an anti establishment election.  How do you think Trump beat 15 other Republicans in the primary?  He was not part of the establishment.

The Democrat Party has to now pick up the pieces and build new coalitions with groups of people that voted for Trump.  If they don't, the party will remain out of power.

If that's the case than explain to me why Hillary did better than Feingold in Wisconsin. Not only was Feingold more left than Hillary but he was such a proponent of campaign finance reform the law over turned in the Supreme Court ruling on Citizen's United was named after him. McCain-Feingold act. Yet Hillary out performed him. So why did Feingold lose and why did Hillary do better than he did? By the way, Wisconsin isn't the only state where Hillary got more votes than the democratic senate candidate.

Normally that high of percentage of ticket splitting don't happen.  We know what the recorded vote was but we are not sure what the true vote was?  It is a big red flag for bad equipment or election fraud.  We have privatize our elections to corporations that maintain the equipment in secret. The profit is not in counting the votes but producing an out come. Why do you think Stein is being bank rolled for a recount in that state?  They are looking for the source of the possible bad count.  Actually they know what counties to look in because of statistical analysis that has been done. They have to go through the court to get a chance to analyze the equipment.

You are not the only one that noticed Hillary out preformed the Senate races. It could be political or it can be what I just pointed out.

You can call it CT or Fake news if you want or tell me I have a tin foil hat on.  But the truth is we have some serious problems with our election process in this country and there are some very brave people pursuing it.
