The intra-Palestinian meeting in Moscow has precedent
— Hanna Notte (@HannaNotte) February 29, 2024
Russia's hosted such meetings in the past, most recently Feb 2019
Russia has long lamented the US' "monopolization" of the peace process & tried to carve out a niche for itself: mediating among the disunited Palestinians/2

A mass expulsion of Afghan migrants could destabilize the region and fuel radicalization. The West should pressure Islamabad to change course.
All eyes on #Chad right now
Chad has two internet trunks coming into the country: One from the Red Sea via Sudan; the other from Cameroon. Not possible for the totality of the country's internet network to be shut unless done centrally. A lot of rumors swirling; few facts. https://t.co/N6bDJZ2ixO

Louise Mensch taking a winner's lap. And here. More on Putin's tracking @Yandex codes to follow.

Yeah I saw this this morning at WaPo: Justice Dept. debating charges against WikiLeaks members in revelations of diplomatic, CIA materials but I thought I should let you post the story as I knew you'd eventually do so and come up with a great lede.
Betcha he and some of his hacker friends thought for a while that he might have a I-love-Wikileaks-and-Russia buddy in the White House. I could see things turned when he tweeted back on the topic of leakers to the tweeter-in-chief early this month.

Mensch criticized for Tweeting too much on things that seem too absurd to be true, even Matt Taibbi calling her a nut, except her track record's not that bad and most revelations about this administration are absurd but still true.
Is it because she wrote chick lit and doesn't look like this gen's Woodward & Bernstein, or is she really shooting fast and wide of the mark?

Farage met Assange secretly the day before Wikileaks' anti-CIA drop.
Hannity famously made love to Assange in his interview, and it was already known in October Assange was helping Putin undermine the election (October surprise, not so much), including the "journalistic" revelation that Podesta was engaging in ritual consumption of bodily fluids along with a user survey to guess/diagnose if Hillary was suffering from MS, Parkinsons, brain damage or personality - feel that First Amendment power justifying the public service of hacking Podesta's private account, just like saving those #PizzaGate children suffering from Madame Hillary's exploitative pedophilia ring (shame she didn't trademark "MadameBLO" - great marketing miss).
That Hannity interview led to Trump defending Assange as well.
Assange then defended Flynn & Trump in February, claiming " it’s a “destabilization campaign perpetrated by U.S. spies, the Democrats and the media.”"
Roger Stone claimed he had a "perfectly legal back channel to Wikileaks" shortly before Wikileaks claimed he didn't, but he seemed to be privy to the timing of all the dumps.(Stone appeared to be "shaken" over his DMs with Guccifer 2.0)
This article reminds that Assange at one point was an actual broadcaster - for Russia Today - along with 1 strange incident helping Israel Shamir (with multiple aliases) root out dissidents in Belorus in the name of some journalistic sources-needed exercise.
Assange was apparently so taken with Putin's original offer of asylum along with setting up Edward Snowden that he gave Putin the keys to the kingdom.
Looks like enough to investigate for quite a few years - hope Julian has time.
BTW, besides Trump's 1st 100 days, also approaching 130 days since Buzzfeed dossier drop - remember all the claims about foul journalistic malpractice? Seems their & Steel's reports holding up pretty well. It's become the threshing machine of the young Trump administration - slow to fill slots, but shedding or crippling staff at an alarming rate. Another Deep State plot, I'm sure. Get Nunes, I mean his replacement on the line. Chaffetz? more time with his family. Flynn turned state's evidence. Who else is here? Dammit, Bannon would have cleared this up in a jiffy. Is Jared skiing again?

Sheesh, who knows, hard to keep up.
Nigel Farage's UKIP was apparently working behind the scenes against Assange's European Arrest Warrant - why, we don't know, but there's some evidence of Russian collusion supporting Brexit, and this makes it uglier, even as Theresa May's called a snap election for 45 days from now. (UKIP's dead in the water, but I imagine this will stir up more Brexit remorse & suspicion).
Other question is who's Putin banging in the French election - looks like melange a trois with Le Pen *AND* Melenchon. Hope the puppies are cute.
