Akin Still Leading McCaskill

Best demonstration I have ever seem in a poll about how polarized and rigidly partisan American politics has become.  Akin's favorability is 24, and yet he gets 44 in the sample.

I'm not surprised by this at all. There's a deep partisan divide but that's not the whole story here. There's a substantial evangelical minority in Missouri that agrees with Akins. They get a  lot of pseudoscience from the Falwell's and Robertson's on their evangelical "news" programs to help them justify their policies and positions. There are fundamentalist christian "scholars" feeding them fraudulent information like Dr. John Willke who is no doubt Akin's source. Or David Barton feeding the evangelicals fraudulent history.

All this isn't new, but it does seem that these "scholars" have gotten better at peddling lies since the days of Dr. Yoder claiming 6 LSD users were blinded from staring at the sun while tripping.
