I suggest WMD [White Man's Dominance] Day to make it accurate, satisfyingly accusatory to the only identity group that can be blamed for just about everything without being politically incorrect, recognizes the plight of the entire continent, and besides, it just has a certain ring to it.
I am writing from Nicaragua where my current Hostel host's mother was/is a doctor from Belgium who lived here from 1980 until 1990 and worked as a volunteer in support of the Sandinista revolution. His father, a Nicaraguan, is an ambassador to one of the other S. American countries but I forget which. My host has dual citizenship, is well traveled in Europe and other places, but likes it here the best. I was last here in 1989 when I arrived in Managua on the day of Bush the First's inauguration. There was a parade that day to celebrate the end of Reagan's administration. I both like and admire the Nicaraguan people and highly recommend the country for a visit.

If Columbus Day celebrates genocide, then doesn't Indigenous People's Day celebrate inter-tribal massacres, death by torture, cannibalism, human sacrifice, and oppression of women?
