GOP Anti-vaxxer: Rep. Barry Loudermilk, a Georgia Republican.....chair of a key congressional subcommittee on science and technology...responding to a woman who asked whether he'd be looking into...if the (CDC) had covered up information linking vaccines to autism. He responded with a rather unscientific personal anecdote: "I believe it's the parents' decision whether to immunize or not…Most of our children, we didn't immunize. They're healthy."

F*ck these idiots and the elephant they rode in on. I am so tired of the constant drumbeat of idiocy that is the GOP these days. The 2010 mid-term election which gave the GOP the opportunity to gerrymander is looking more and more significant. What is it going to take to overthrow the caucus of morons that now control Congress?

The people who cast the votes don't decide an election, the people who count the votes do. Joseph Stalin

Yeah, but perhaps this explains a lot.

Good link. They are that dumb. Ideologies are not self correcting, and if the person has little experience or education to engage their brain and use objective reasoning, they will never change.
It's so pervasive I almost always find myself spelling 'freedumb' because of stories like this:
Just two days after a 75-vehicle pileup injured at least 17 people in the state, lawmakers in Maine are considering legislation that would allow adults to opt out of wearing seat belts. Sen. Eric Brakey told lawmakers on Friday that it's too bad they're considering his bill so close to Wednesday's crash on Interstate 95, .."It's very unfortunate timing that we're discussing this particular legislation two days after the 75-car pileup that took place on I-95," Brakey said. The Republican from Auburn acknowledged that people should wear seat belts....But said he believes the mandate infringes on people's freedom to make personal decisions.
Despots and their propagandists have an easier time manipulating and exploiting the ignorance and hate of bigots and fools. That's why Republicans always cut education, or steer the education money towards GOP connected business shills.

When the big money boys like Koch and Adelson no longer fund Republicans and GOP oriented PACS with hundreds of millions for TV ads, when politicians no longer have endless fund raising, then we will know voting doesn't matter.
Also, the GOP also goes to great trouble to stop people from voting, so, using objective reasoning and the above facts, we can be pretty sure that by and large, those who cast votes, not those who count votes, still determine elections.
