A Warm and Sultry Friday Afternoon at the Haikulodeon

Here's this week's heap of haikus:

    tanka haiku:

      Standing on the beach,
      looking at the ocean, I
      ponder Life's journey.

What makes me laugh, is to think
that seagulls do the same thing.

    Pie-ku:

    His mouth and face got
smudged with so much choc'late cream,
    his eyes glazed over.

    Psst - ku:

    That delicate sway
from your woman at play ... is
    in lieu of a lay.

    ---

    A starry night, wind
    rustles the dandelions.
    We cautiously kiss.

    ---

    Double haiku:

    When we interact,
    we acknowledge we are gears
    in this God machine.

    When all the gears mesh,
    machines run efficiently.
    Very much like Life.

    ---

    When I feel alone,
I conjour thoughts of you to
    keep me company.

    ---

    Flyers promoting
    fliers compare fares fairly
    or risk a tsk, tsk.

    ---

    Taper the paper

    because vellum will tell 'em

    what you write's alright.

    ---

    In bed, in pain, out
    of meds and luck. overwhelmed,
    under the weather.

    ---

    Do you whistle low,
    or sing along to iPods?
    Let your music flow.

    ---

    What's most confusing
    re: experiencing time?
    Watched pots DO boil.

    ---

    Blazing neon lights
blind us to the clutter of
    bad architecture.

    ---

    Small streams ripple at
the edge of a lonely street.
    Intermittent rain.

    ---

    The more I focus
    on subtle details, the more
    I'm drawn into Life.

    ----

    Blue skies reflected
    on office windows outside,
    are better scene in.

    ---

    My wish for you is:
Your quest never ends, and your
    heart ever widens.

    ---

She sneezed her dress off ...
    which, in the cathedral, caused
    quite a kerfuffle!

    ---

    double haiku:

    When I was young, I
    looked in strangers' faces to
    find the familiar.

    Now that I am old,
    I look in strangers' faces
    to find the unique.

    ---

    Peach oleanders
    overwhelm the small vase on
    my kitchen table.

    ---

    tanka haiku:

    Sirens start screaming,
in the middle of the night.
    causing dogs to bark.

Then, the neighbor's lights go on.
I drove through their shrubs, okay?

    ---

    An old weathered rope,
    hangs 'round a lonely fence-post,
    purpose forgotten.

    ---

    He was so immersed
in his work, that he forgot
    about his coffee.

    ---

    Beautiful and lithe,
hot girls in tight t-shirts jog
    past me ... pushing prams.

    ---

    Around 3 o'clock,
cooped up in her office, she
    daydreams her escape.

    Powell moves darn well.

The slickest trick by the dog:

    Stepping to the side.

    Ha! You're right, moat!

    Powell moves darn well

which is why she was tapped for

    the joint chiefs distaff.

    My mind is slipping

on the icy road of tears

    where your children walk.

    Nice one, barefooted!

    My mind is slipping

my thoughts can't seem to grasp hold

    of  life without you.

    My mind is slipping

as my soul is falling through

    the abyss of yours.

    Good one!

    You know what they say;
    when you're angry, abyss is
as good as some bile ...
